Hollywood Promises To Talk About It!
Well the career I was looking into when I got older was to become a detective. I have wanted to go into Criminal Justice for years now, and a few days ago me and my mum were looking into it. We found info on the job and so my mum got up so i can read it, but then a thought crossed my mind. I was wondering if i could even become a police officer and work my way up to detective in the first place since i have epilepsy. So I looked it up, I found some answers but not a lot and i don;t know if they are correct i guess. One said that they would not accept those with epilepsy and another said that I might be able to in some cities or states but If have a seizure I would have to be I think a few years seizure free and on medication. Also someone also said if i were to have a seizure while on the job it of course would endanger my life and probably the life of others. So I don't know what to do. So can you all leave your opinion please.

Comment by David Naess on February 18, 2013 at 7:00am The big problem with being a detective would be a driver's license.
Another problem would be carrying a firearm (have a seizure and anybody could steal it.)
I was thinking about law enforcement for a while myself...
I was interested in forensics - especially fingerprints! (This was before fingerprints were in a database and all you had to do was press the "Search" button on the computer.)
I have the right mindset for that sort of persnickety work but, unfortunately, I let a cop friend talk me out of it when he said:
"Oh... you don't want to do that! Fingerprints is a real 'hair pulling' job!"
I eventually put my analytical skills to use in Software Quality Control.
The documentation was so bad that I drifted into Technical Writing.
